  3. POSSIBLE LOSS OF HARD DISK INSTALLS!

  5. PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS
  6. CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING
  7.  
  8. This updater installs updated Max applications, external objects and help files.
  9.  
  10. This updater can only install versions of the MaxFAT and Max68K
  11. applications that are compatible with a key disk whose label reads Max 3.5.8 or
  12. later on it. If you have a old key disk whose label reads Max 3.5 or 3.5.1, DO
  13. NOT INSTALL THE APPLICATIONS, or if you do install them, DO NOT
  14. RUN THE APPLICATIONS AND ATTEMPT TO AUTHORIZE
  15. THEM WITH YOUR OLD KEY DISK. YOU MAY DESTROY
  16. YOUR OLD KEY DISK AND LOSE ALL OF YOUR HARD
  17. DISK INSTALLS.

  20. If you wish to update your MAX application and do not have a 3.5.8 or
  21. later key disk, contact Opcode or your local Opcode distributor for a
  22. replacement.

  24. To update only the external objects and help files, choose Custom
  25. Install from the installer dialog and uncheck Max Application and Max 68K
  26. Application.

  28. If you have more than one folder containing Max applications on your hard
  29. disk, the installer may not choose the one you want as the install location.
  30. At the bottom of the installer dialog, the installer will indicate where it is
  31. going to install the updated files.

  33. If this is not where you want it to perform the update, choose Select
  34. Folder... from the pop-up menu next to this location and pick the
  35. desired folder.

  37. The newly installed Max applications are called "MaxFAT3.5.9-8" and
  38. "Max68K3.5.9-8"
  39.  
  40. If you have special or customized versions of standard Max external objects, you
  41. may wish to back them up before installing. They will be replaced with the
  42. latest versions from the installer.
